Wooden ammo boxes are stacked in the soon-to-be-completed ammo bunker on Hill 52. Each box holds three rounds for the 81mm mortar. Most of the ammo in these boxes are illumination rounds.

Illumination rounds were used to illuminate ground targets at night. They would illuminate an area of about 1100 meters for 75 seconds. This proved very useful during night time activities.
