Looking east from the area of the FDC (Fire Direction Control) bunker you can see trench line making its way across the road to the other 81mm mortar bunker and the make-shift bridge used by the jeeps and mules. Mules were a small, light, flatbed utility vehicle used to transport ammo, C-rations, garbage and other supplies.
